Adventure Writing School

From Pen to Publication

You have been writing about your outdoor adventures, and want to know how to edit your own work and possibly get it published.

Join a four-hour workshop with outdoors writer Shaun Barnett in which you will learn about defining your audience, choosing an angle, how to edit your own work, the value of reading widely, and planning for a significant piece of writing.

The workshop will also cover what outdoor publications exist in New Zealand, and what editors want from writers. Bring along an article – on your laptop or on paper – about any outdoor subject, about 500 words long. You’ll get editing advice, and learn how to critically examine your own work.

Writing can be fiction or non-fiction.
