It’s Opening Night!

NZMFF 23_-31

Doors open at the Lake Wānaka Centre at 7pm tonight and we can’t wait to welcome you back for the 22nd edition of the NZ Mountain Film & Book Festival! We have an epic programme lined up for you and we know you’ll love it. The show starts at 8.00pm but the doors open at 7.00pm so come early and enjoy the art exhibition, trade show and live music from Mount Aspiring College students while you catch up with friends. We’ll also have locally-made Maori Point wine and b.effect beers available. If you’ve booked tickets, they have been sent to you from Humanitix, open the email, click on view tickets to download your tickets to scan at the door. Remember, no need to print them.

Opening Night has sold out and a few other shows are close to filling up too, so if you haven’t already got your tickets, check out the programme and book as soon as you can. If you miss out on tickets to our Pure NZ shows in Wānaka, they’ll also be playing at Cinema Paradiso at 3.30pm on the same days so head along there to enjoy – book directly.

We’ve fitted more than ever into the programme this year with 17 speakers and 64 films, including 14 world premieres. We’re especially excited to welcome Italian mountaineer Simone Moro as our keynote speaker and highly recommend bagging yourself some seats for his talk on Saturday evening. This is your chance to get inside the mind of one of the world’s greatest mountaineers and find out what kind of person sets themselves a challenge to climb the world’s highest mountains in minus 40-degree temperatures. According to Simone, “There are no impossible things to do. There are difficult things, very difficult things, and things only almost impossible.”
