Joe’s career in film and television has spanned more than a decade and many roles, including director, producer, DP/camera and editor. His style revolves around interesting compositions, creative lighting, deep connections and always putting the story first.

Joe’s work has aired globally on major networks including Al Jazeera, Brovo, TVNZ and Māori Television, as well as featuring on streaming platforms Amazon Prime, TVNZ+, GloboSat and RNZ.

He has won multiple international awards including; Best Aotearoa Project for WALK, Best Documentary for ‘4130’, Honourable Mention for ‘ARE WE EVEN LISTENING?’ and numerous finalist & official selections for Documentary, Music Video and short drama content. His music video for Devilskin’s ‘NEVER SEE THE LIGHT’ has amassed over 3.7 million views on Youtube alone, with many others receiving over 500,000 views.

As a kid growing up in South Auckland, Joe lived with a camera in hand. Starting out in stills on an old Pentax SLR before transitioning into moving image after saving up for a $50 handycam from Cash Converters. He started his professional journey in news and broadcast, music videos, and short form documentaries and has since worked on numerous TV series, commercials, short films, and documentaries throughout New Zealand, America, and South East Asia.
